Identity Clone

The new shoot for Vogue Paris January 11, shot by Tom Ford, staring Crystal Renn, shows a collection of images expressing the obsessive need to look - how society feels is - 'perfect'. The collection starts with a beautiful yet vain young woman, who criticizes her appearance in the mirror. This then resorts to plastic surgery, of which becomes obsessive, and shows how she can not refrain, but has her nose, her mouth, a face lift, her boobs, etc etc all altered. This article highlights the dark side of beauty, and how the obsession can clone us into all wishing to look identical, until we loose the person we really are. Personally I think this highly emotional piece is very successful, as it has the ability to connect with almost every female.

  2. I've been in love with this shoot since I first heard about it. Its a great editorial with a dark edge that somehow also ends up being educational. Of course even covered in plaster Crystal Renn is still gorgeous.
