Fashion History - 1559

Elizabeth I is crowned Queen of England and immediately ushers in an age of elaborate, ornate fashion. Her trademarks include long strands of pearls, jewel-encrusted gowns, countless wigs, starched ruffs, and a plunging neckline that exposes her decolletage. She also pulls the ultimate fashion diva move, passing a law forbidding others to wear the same colours and styles as her.
