Dior's New Look
A rich, ultrafeminine aesthetic introduced by French designer Christian Dior at his first-ever runway show in 1947. The clothes featured rounded shoulders, cinched waists, and flowing skirts, and provided a welcome reprieve from the stodgy, restrained styles women had been wearing sine WW2 - primarily because of fabric rationing.
