Your Waste Is My Treasure

Plastic bottles to plastic straws, plastic forks to plastic bags. Even with a bit of tin foil thrown in. These are just some of the discarded materials used within New York photographer TOMAAS's latest series, entitled 'Plastic Fantastic'. The waste objects have been regenerated and given a whole different persona within these photographs, making the normally bland objects seem powerfully entrancing and somewhat important. The lighting is caught perfectly on the transparent and reflective objects to create the same glisten as seen on a beautiful diamond ring in the displays at Tiffany's. The contrast of the background and foreground only enhances the beauty of the regeneration, while the models are kept plain, as if to reflect the previous bland existence of these objects.
